We are to select a brand in relation to being clean and create a print ad series along with an Instagram carousel post to promote cleanliness. The brand that we have selected is KonMari, well-known for its KonMari method. Through secondary research, we have identified that teenagers lack the motivation to clean their room as they don't see the need to and are mostly stressed out from school. Hence, we decided to advertise the KonMari method to teenagers to help them understand that decluttering is a fun activity that can spark joy in their lives.

In the series, we use monsters as a visual metaphor for the overwhelming mess in both their room and their head. Monsters are usually associated with "scary" and "harmful". Cleaning up is the only way out before the monsters clear them. The message that we want to convey is without cleaning up, we may cause ourselves a lot of harm physically and mentally.

 

My role was to come up with the copywriting, research cleaning brands and teenagers' behaviours, as well as assist my main illustrator with sketches and ideation for the print ads.
